Freelance journalists in need can apply for grants.
The Overseas Press Club Foundation, with support from the Ford Foundation, has expanded its grant program to distribute more than 90 grants of US$1,000 each to freelancers.
The grants seek to provide economic relief for freelance journalists who have had work published in any medium by an American news organization within the past year.
Freelancers who have been forced to return to the United States because their work dried up are still eligible.
The deadline is Feb. 15.
