Knight Center offers MOOC on coverage of forced displacement [Latin America]

Journalists, journalism students and others are invited participate in this online course in Spanish.

The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, through its Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), hosts the free course "Journalism without labels: covering forced displacement in Latin America and the Caribbean", Aug. 31 to Sept. 27.

The training seeks to promote reporting practices that foster intercultural dialogue and sensitive to diversity through innovative tools and evidence-based content about the situation of refugees, migrants and displaced persons in the region.

The course will be led by Analía Kim, UNHCR Communications Coordinator, and Florencia Saffirio, consultant for UNESCO's Regional Response Strategy to the situation of people in a context of mobility in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The course is accessible to anyone with an internet connection. Participants may complete the weekly activities at their own pace. Anyone who wants to receive a certificate must pay a US$30 administrative fee.
