InfoNile calls for pitches on COVID-19 and water crisis [East Africa]

Teams of journalists in the 11 Nile Basin countries can submit a story proposal.

InfoNile is accepting proposals for in-depth journalism stories on dual dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic and water crisis in the Nile basin. 

The selected stories will be part of a series of stories supported with funding from the Pulitzer Center and National Geographic Society.

Teams must include a national newspaper or TV journalist and a local radio journalist. The eligible countries are Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, South Sudan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Egypt.

Budgets should be less than US$500. The stories can be published in other languages but should also be translated into English.

Pitches will be accepted on a rolling basis between April and July 2020.
