Budding and experienced journalists interested in civil rights reporting can apply for a yearlong fellowship.

The Columbia Journalism School hosts the Ira A. Lipman Center for Journalism and Civil and Human Rights, which will oversee the Lipman Fellowship in 2024.

Although the fellowship is nonresidential, fellows have access to the resources of the journalism school, are expected to give a public presentation at the school and can mentor students. Fellows receive US$10,000.

The senior fellowship is open to candidates with 10 or more years of journalism experience. The junior fellowship is for those who have fewer than five years of full-time journalism experience.

The deadline is Feb. 15.
