Journalists with at least three years of experience working in Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Peru, Brazil and Argentina can apply for this training in Spanish.

The Gabo Foundation and ACNUR are organizing the workshop "Refugees and migrants: how to cover the Venezuelan case" April 13 to 17 in Medellín, Colombia.

The training will offer conceptual instruments and ethical principles to produce quality journalism that does not reinforce the stigmas associated with migration, that understands and explains the causes, dimensions and implications of the Venezuelan exodus, and that applies methodologies and good practices that contribute to the dialogue and constructive interaction between refugees, migrants and host societies.

Selected candidates must pay a tuition fee of US$100 and will receive air tickets, accommodation, food and medical insurance. In addition, three participants will be selected for the laboratory of new narratives on Venezuelan refugees and migrants, which will offer up to US$5,000 to produce an investigative story about the topic.

The deadline to apply is March 2.
