ICFJ seeks monitoring and learning specialist [Latin America, US]

Professionals with eight to 12 years of experience in monitoring and evaluating learning outcomes can apply for this remote position.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is looking for a monitoring, evaluation, and learning specialist for its Luminate-sponsored Velocidad project in partnership with SembraMedia.

The objective of this project is to help digital media projects in Latin America achieve a higher level of business development, while maintaining high journalistic standards and editorial independence, to make them financially sustainable and prepare them for future philanthropic or investment capital.

The specialist will design evaluation tools to measure the changes and knowledge gained that occur as a result of the Accelerator at every stage of the project, including three months after its conclusion; document all activities of the project, the immediate responses of grantees, and longer-term outcomes achieved; provide basic metrics on project data, at the request of ICFJ program staff; prepare high-quality quarterly reports highlighting the compiled data, and more.

The consultancy should begin in January 2020 and will last until September 2021. The bulk of the work can be done remotely, via Skype and email. Working capability in Spanish and English is required. Applicants who do not speak Portuguese should include a Portuguese translator in their budget.
