Journalists and others interested in internet freedom are invited to this event.
The Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA) will host the Forum on Internet Freedom in Africa (#FIFAfrica19) Sept. 23 to 26 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The event brings together human rights defenders, journalists, government officials, bloggers, developers, representatives from academia and others to discuss matters related to upholding internet freedom.
Topics include gaps, concerns and opportunities for advancing privacy, access to information, free expression, non-discrimination, the free flow of information online on the African continent and more.
Participants in need of travel support must apply by July 31.
The deadline for session proposals is July 31.
Registration is free. The deadline is Sept. 6.
