U.S. and Korean journalists in print, broadcast or online media with at least five years experience can apply for an exchange program.

The East-West Center presents the Korea-United States Journalists Exchange, a program focused on North Korea, the U.S.-South Korea alliance and the economy May 26 to June 4.

Six Korean journalists will visit Washington and Honolulu; and six U.S. journalists will visit Seoul, Busan and the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea. Participants will meet with government officials, local journalists, educators, students and community and business leaders.

All participants will then meet in Seoul for a one-day dialogue to discuss their experiences and how to enhance media coverage of U.S.-Korea issues. Following these study tours, all Korean and American participants meet at the East-West Center in Honolulu to share their experiences and new perspectives.

The program covers travel, lodging and meals.

The deadline is March 13.
