College students and recent graduates interested in investigative journalism can apply for a paid internship in Washington.

The Center for Public Integrity is accepting applications for its summer 2019 internship.

Interns analyze data, report and write stories that serve democracy by revealing abuses of power, corruption and betrayal of public trust by powerful public and private institutions.

Candidates must have some reporting experience and strong writing skills. Experience in computer-assisted reporting, web development, multimedia, graphic design or other special programming is beneficial.

Interns receive US$16 per hour and a US$500 signing bonus.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 1.
