CNN's iReport citizen journalist project offers aspiring journalists a way to get a byline on CNN.com.
More seasoned journalists will probably also be interested in a inside peek at what CNN producers want in in the second edition of this seven-week Boot Camp contest.
Each week CNN experts will review storytelling basics -- from picking stories to shooting and editing photos and videos and wrapping the package with a killer headline.
Launched August 12, the first expert advice post offers tips on choosing stories from senior supervising producer Manuel Perez.
At the end of each week, participants get one-on-one feedback from specially-selected CNN experts in each area. At the end of the seven weeks (Sept. 30), the best stories may be published on CNN.com, so keeping "evergreen" stories in mind is also key to getting that byline.
Anyone can participate.
CNN advises aspiring journalists to take note of when each topic launches, which will be every Friday for the next seven weeks. Then submit the appropriate assignment by the posted deadline and check back in every Wednesday and Thursday for feedback from the community and CNN experts.
