Arab screenwriters working on their first or second feature-length script are encouraged to apply.

The Rawi Screenwriters Lab, founded in 2005 by the Royal Film Commission – Jordan, takes place once a year over five days. Eight selected fellows engage in intensive one-on-one sessions with creative advisors, informal discussions, and group gatherings that foster creative exchange and build a sense of community.

Applicants may be independent screenwriters, writer-directors or co-writers. To be eligible, they must be of Arab nationality, regardless of their country of residence, and working on their first or second narrative feature.

Candidates should submit their cover letter, a full narrative feature script (minimum 60 pages), a story synopsis outlining the main characters, key plot points, an ending, a filmmaker’s statement, screenwriter’s bio and links to previous work.

The deadline is May 31.
