Journalists and media organizations based in Latin America can apply for these grants.
The Consortium to Support Independent Journalism in the Region (CAPIR) calls for investigative journalism projects in two categories: national and cross-border.
Projects selected in the national category will receive funding of US$1,000 to US$3,000. Projects selected in the cross-border category will receive funding of US$1,000 to US$4,000. Selected candidates will receive mentoring for six months.
