Experienced journalists based in the United States can apply for a fellowship.

The Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ), with support from The Commonwealth Fund, is offering its International Health Study Fellowship. The program allows journalists to produce projects that provide valuable insights that can help inform policy decisions, improve health care outcomes and contribute to the ongoing evolution of health care systems worldwide.

Selected journalists will pursue a story or project comparing a facet of the U.S. health care system to that of another country.

For 2025, the focus will be on European countries (preference for France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland or United Kingdom) in comparison with the U.S. health care system.

The six-month fellowship covers travel, accommodation, meals and transportation.

The deadline is Oct. 4.
