How online platforms are shaping journalism, Vox Media's US$50 million worth and more in this week's Digital Media Mash Up, produced by the Center for International Media Assistance.
Technology set journalism free, now new platforms are in control
Emily Bell, who runs the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University, recently spoke at the Reuters Institute about the crossroads at which journalism finds itself today. Vox Media valued at nearly US$50 million after investment
Vox Media, a publisher with a fast-growing portfolio of online lifestyle and news brands, announced that it has just closed a $46.5 million round of financing from General Atlantic, a New York investment firm. (New York Times, 11/30)

Twitter is making changes aimed at allowing users to report abuse or offensive content more easily. Twitter told BBC the changes would give users "more control over their experience". The changes come after several high profile cases of abuse. (BBC, 12/02)
