SMEX is accepting applications for the Mariam Al-Shafei Fellowship on Technology and Human Rights 2024.
Five non-resident fellows will be selected to work on projects on the following topics: Internet Governance in West Asia and North Africa, Digital Resilience in the Global South, Freedom of Expression in Lebanon, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and Digital Rights, or Feminism and Digital Rights.
The 10-month fellowship offers technical mentorship, skills-building, and networking opportunities, as well as providing a monthly stipend of US$900.
Applicants should have proficiency in Arabic and English and demonstrable experience in and commitment to protecting and promoting digital rights and internet freedoms.
The deadline for applications is Jan. 15.
