Grants available for reporting on illegal wildlife trade [East Africa]

Journalists and media organizations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda can apply for this grant.

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is offering grants for investigative reporting on environmental crime in East Africa, as part of its East Africa Wildlife Journalism project

Projects should focus on illegal wildlife trafficking and other investigative pieces on environmental crime. These includes, but are not limited to, stories on illegal logging, mining or sand harvesting, the trade in timber, such as sandalwood, dumping of hazardous waste and overfishing.

Grantees will receive up to US$2,000 to produce their investigative stories.

The deadline is Oct. 19.
