Journalists with experience in open data training can apply for this program in Ivory Coast, Niger, Cameroon and Madagascar.

The CFI, the French agency for media development, seeks a trainer for MédiaLab pour Elles, a project that aims to develop content about gender in Sub-Saharan Africa based on open data. This research will help consolidate a new network of trainers and women experts in open data collection and analysis.

The program will run November 2020 to January 2022. The consultant will be in charge of identifying the eight trainers in each country, developing a training and action protocol in open data analysis  and survey preparation. Following the training sessions, the consultant will help monitor the surveys launched by the trainees over the course of six months.

Candidates must have professional media and open data analysis experience. They must also have robust skills running training programs. Knowledge of the challenges facing media and civil society in Sub-Saharan Africa as well as knowledge of gender issues at stake in French-speaking Africa are key.

The deadline is Oct. 15.
