Independent local organizations can apply for funding.
The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), in partnership with the Facebook Journalism Project (FJP), is accepting applications for the COVID-19 Local News Relief Fund in South Africa.
The grant will provide urgent financial support for independent publishers with a special focus on investigative journalism and local news organizations covering the COVID-19 pandemic.
There will be two grants of US$35,000 for publishers with 40 or more staff member and seven grants of US$10,000 for publishers with less than 40 staff members.
The deadline is May 19.
