Deadline extended: ICFJ offers journalism workshop [Southeast Asia]

Aspiring citizen journalists in Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Timor-Leste can apply for this program.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh, is organizing a workshop April 27 to May 1 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The workshop will cover blogging, citizen journalism and fact-based reporting. Participants will gain a practical understanding of citizen journalism, as well as the skills and resources needed to produce quality evidence-based reporting.

All travel, lodging, and program activity costs are fully funded by the U.S. Department of State.

Applicants must be Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) members who live in an ASEAN member country. They must be between the ages of 25 and 35 at the time of the workshop; English-language proficiency is required.

The deadline is Jan. 22.
