Journalists from least developed countries (LDCs) can apply for a fellowship to cover a United Nations conference in Qatar.
The UN Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States and the Thomson Reuters Foundation are partnering to facilitate a journalism fellowship for journalists from the least developed countries.
Selected journalists will be offered the opportunity to travel and participate in the Fifth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) in Doha, Qatar, Jan. 23 to 27, 2022.
The LCD5 Fellowship will equip journalists with better reporting skills, so that people living in their countries are aware of global decisions being made on their behalf. The program begins in the autumn with regional online training programs.
One outstanding fellow will be selected for a fully-funded fellowship in the autumn of 2022 at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University.
The application deadline is Oct. 17.
