Public policy fellowship

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars is seeking journalists, scholars and public officials to apply to its nine-month residential fellowship in Washington, D.C. Fellows will conduct research, interact with policymakers and receive a US$90,000 stipend.
Collegiate fellowship
Deadline: October 4, 2021
Early-career journalists and media scholars can apply for the LSA Collegiate Fellowship, created by The College of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan. Fellows will devote their time to pursuing their independent research, and they will receive a starting salary of $60,000.

Story editor job opening

Global Press is hiring a story editor for the Global Press Journal (GPJ), who will coach, line edit and restructure translated articles in collaboration with reporters. Applicants must be fluent in English and have experience working with diverse global teams.
Social issues video contest
Deadline: October 7, 2021
Filmmakers and activists who have created videos that inspire activism, compassion and social transformation can submit their work to the Social Impact Media Awards. Films must have been completed between October 2020 and September 2021. Winners will receive cash prizes, media features and distribution opportunities.
Seminars for business journalists

The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School organizes the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists. This program helps media professionals improve their reporting skills and gain insights into topics including account principles, financial markets and banking regulation.

Travel photography contest

Professional and amateur photographers can submit their work to the TPOTY competition, which recognizes travel photography in four portfolio categories. Winners will receive cash prizes and sponsors’ gifts.
