Experienced data journalists can apply for this fellowship.

The East-West Center and Internews’ Earth Journalism Network, in partnership with the Stimson Center, are offering fellowships to data journalists for a second and final round.

The fellowships are offered to journalists based in the Mekong River Basin, which covers Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

Fellows will learn how to find, scrape, clean and interview data as well as transform their findings into powerful human interest stories. The program will run August to November.

Fellows will join a series of virtual seminars with experts in fields such as water management, attend an intensive, 80-hour data journalism training and receive one-on-one mentorship support to produce a data-driven media story.

Twenty selected candidates will receive US$3,000 each.

Journalists must have two to three years of journalism experience and proficiency in English.

The deadline is June 27.
