The Thomson Reuters Foundation, in partnership with the Sabin Vaccine Institute, is organizing the training program “Reporting on immunization and vaccination” Feb. 1 to 5 in Spanish for Bolivians and Hondurans and Feb. 8 to 12 in English primarily for Guyanese journalists.

The program will cover immunization-related topics, such as the role of vaccines in public health, new and emerging issues particularly around COVID-19 vaccines, and the responsibility of media in educating the public about misinformation on vaccines and immunization.

After four days of online training, participants will receive one-to-one mentoring and GBP250 (US$340) story grants as well as eight weeks of ongoing mentoring.

While the English-language workshop is primarily intended for journalists in Guyana, it is open to any journalist with full English proficiency in low- and middle-income countries in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

The deadline is Jan. 18.
