Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize Deadline: July 5, 2016

Photographers ages 18 and older can enter their portrait photography to this contest, organized by the National Portrait Gallery in London. Entries should depict people with an emphasis on their individuality. The first place winner will receive GBP15,000 (US$21,635); additional cash prizes may be awarded as well. Photographers under 30 are also eligible for the GBP4,000 (US$5,769) John Kobal New Work Award. For more information, click here.

IWMF’s Howard G. Buffett Fund Deadline: July 6, 2016

Female journalists and majority-women teams of journalists can apply for project funding from the International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF). Potential projects include exposing underreported yet critical global issues; pursuing training and leadership opportunities; and launching entrepreneurial news projects or acquiring the skill to do so. Third Coast/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition Deadline: July 13, 2016

Audio stories, including podcasts and radio features, produced between July 2014 and July 2016 can be entered to this competition. Several categories, including best documentary, directors' choice, best new artist and more, are available. Winners will receive US$1,000 to US$4,000, a license for Hindenburg Journalist Pro editing software and free entry to the Third Coast Filmless Festival Nov. 11 to 13 in Chicago. ONA conference fellowships Deadline: July 14, 2016

The Online News Association’s MJ Bear Fellowship is open to digital journalists and students worldwide. The fellow will receive registration, travel and accommodations for the 2016 Online News Association Conference and Awards in Denver; additionally, he or she will get three online workshop sessions with a Personal Advisory Board and ONA membership. Next Generation of Science Journalists Award Deadline: July 14, 2016

Journalists who cover global health topics can apply for this fellowship, offered by the World Health Summit (WHS), in partnership with Deutsches Ärzteblatt, the European Union of Science Journalists’ Associations (EUSJA) and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. Five fellows will get to attend the WHS 2016 Oct. 9 to 11 in Berlin, an international networking and learning opportunity. For more information, click here.

Falling Walls Foundation fellowship Deadline: July 31, 2016

Journalists and bloggers with an interest in science can apply for this fellowship. Fellows will visit the Falling Walls Lab and attend the Falling Walls Conference on Nov. 8 and 9 in Berlin.
