Journalists and journalism teams working in Latin America can enter this contest.

Hivos and Greenpeace, through the program "All the eyes on the Amazon," have launched a data journalism regional contest.

The competition seeks to encourage the creation of content about the threats and vulnerabilities faced by indigenous peoples and local communities of the Amazon. The contest also aims to boost data journalism as a mechanism to promote environmental and social awareness.

Print, digital and photo stories in Spanish, Portuguese and English will be accepted. Entries must have been published or broadcast Feb. 26 to June 15, 2020.

The first and second place winners will travel to the Peruvian Amazon to learn about the work of the “All eyes on the Amazon” program, in addition to receiving US$1,500 and US$1,000, respectively. Their work will be translated and published in different platforms.

The deadline is June 15.
