East-West Center hosts leadership program [Asia Pacific]

The East-West Center is organizing the 2020 Pacific Islands Leadership Program with Taiwan (PILP).

The program has three phases: Sept. 28 to Oct. 23 in Honolulu; Oct. 24 to Nov. 26 in Taiwan; and the Leadership Retreat Nov. 27 to Dec. 2 in Taiwan (TBD).

Participants learn about key economic, social, political, health, educational and environmental issues affecting the region, and cultivate the leadership skills, approaches and networks to make meaningful contributions to the region throughout their careers.

Citizens of the Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu are eligible.

The fellowship covers tuition, residence hall room costs, health insurance, course materials, living stipend, airfare and visas.

The deadline is Feb. 29.
