Journalism fellowship accepting candidates [Middle East]

Egyptian students can apply for this fellowship to pursue a master's degree in journalism and mass communication at the American University in Cairo.

Yousef Jameel, working with the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP), established the Yousef Jameel Public Leadership Program, with the overall objective of building the capacity of young competent Egyptian nationals in several areas.

Students must complete their master's degrees within a period of two and a half years, including an optional semester as a study-abroad. 

The organizers cover full tuition, student services and activities fees, in addition to a monthly stipend and accommodation allowance for non-residents of Cairo.

Students must pursue a number of extracurricular and community service activities as organized by the department and the Jameel GAPP Fellowship Office.

Applicants must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.2.

The fellowship application deadline (fall semester) is May 8.
