Fellowship for journalists interested in climate change

CUNY's Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism is organizing the Resilience Journalism Fellowship July 6 to 12 in New York. Fellows will receive training and search for solutions to difficult environmental problems in this weeklong, all-expenses-paid fellowship. Learn more here.

Filmmakers Without Borders offers grants

Deadline: June 1, 2019

Filmmakers of all levels can apply for grants between US$100 and US$5,000 for narrative, documentary, experimental and new media projects at any stage in production. Click here for more information.

Online News Association awards for digital reporting

Deadline: June 6, 2019

Online journalists, news organizations and students can apply for awards in categories like data journalism, visual digital storytelling, technical innovation and more. Winners receive cash prizes and will be given at the ONA conference in September in New Orleans. Learn more here.

Awards for conflict reporting

Deadline: June 10, 2019

The Khaled Alkhateb Memorial Awards for Best Journalism from a Conflict Zone will honor the work of media professionals and organizations who shed light on the complexities and ramifications of armed conflict. Safety training bursary for independent journalists, filmmakers

Deadline: June 12, 2019

The Canadian Journalism Forum on Violence and Trauma is selecting candidates for the Portenier Human Rights Bursary, sponsored by filmmaker Giselle Portenier. Applicants must have experience shedding light on human rights abuses. The winner will receive funds for hazardous environment training from an approved course provider. Fellowship for writers working on longform, nonfiction projects

Deadline: June 15, 2019

The Logan Nonfiction Program is accepting candidates for the 2019 fellowship. Selected candidates will spend 10 weeks at the Carey Institute for Global Good in Rensselaerville, New York working on their projects. Learn more here.

Contest for audio documentaries

Deadline: June 18, 2019

Journalists who have produced audio stories between three and 60 minutes in a variety of categories can enter this contest from the Third Coast and the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation. Business journalism fellowship at CUNY

Deadline: June 28, 2019

The McGraw Center for Business Journalism at the City University of New York's Craig Newmark School of Journalism offers a fellowship program to provide editorial and financial support for in-depth coverage of business and the global economy. Open to journalists with at least five years experience, the fellowship lasts one to three months. Learn more here.

Deadline: June 30, 2019
