News organizations can apply to participate in a program that seeks to strengthen local media.
Report For America (RFA), a project funded by journalists Charles Sennott and Steven Waldman with support from The GroundTruth Project, Google News Lab and others, places journalists in local newsrooms in under-covered corners of America.
RFA is looking for news organizations interested in hosting the next class of RFA corps members. This year, the program is expecting to help fund more than 300 journalists.
Selected reporters will work for up to three years at host newsrooms, starting June 2021. Half of an entry-level salary is paid by RFA, and the rest is split between the news organizations and local donors.
The deadline is Sept. 30. An early decision will be made to those who apply by Aug. 31.
