Deadline extended: Online course on investigating criminal networks open [Latin America, Caribbean]

Journalists who are fluent in English can enroll in this online course.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) are offering a course to help journalists investigate criminal networks. 

The course "Following the money across borders" will be conducted in English May 27 to June 24.

Participants will learn how to expose criminal financial infrastructures, what money laundering is and how it works across borders, how the international banking system is used to commit crimes and more.

At the end of the course, participants will have the opportunity to submit a research proposal. Those participants who demonstrate progress and deliver a quality proposal will have the opportunity to attend a three-day workshop in Jamaica.

The online course is open to journalists from Latin America and the Caribbean. However, the workshop in Jamaica is intended only for journalists from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahamas, Belize, Bolivia, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent, the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The deadline is May 22.
