Phones and tablets have created new ways for audiences to reach our work, but they’ve also made it much harder to design a website that works for all readers. Amping up the GIF: Zeega wants to re-invent interactive media on mobile
Zeega is a desktop-only tool that allows you to pick a music track from Soundcloud and then add GIFs and images on top of the music to create a hybrid video/slideshow. What makes the finished product interesting is that it relies on the user’s gestures to set the pace of storytelling. GigaOM
Jordan: A dark day for journalism
Jordan has blocked 16 more sites, bringing about a total of 254 local news websites that have been blocked by the Jordanian government. The move follows the decision made on June 2, 2013, to block access to approximately 300 websites from within Jordan for failing to register under last year’s Press and Publications Law in Jordan.
