Staff or freelance journalists hosted by local or regional outlets in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin can apply for a fellowship.
The Pulitzer Center is offering its StoryReach Midwest Fellowship. The program allows journalists and local and regional newsrooms to collaborate with peers and the center’s staff to unlock the full potential of storytelling and innovative audience reach.
Applicants must submit proposals that focus on underreported issues. Special emphasis will be placed on underreported topics related to health, marine fisheries, human rights, climate and jobs.
Selected fellows will participate in a yearlong fellowship beginning in July.
The fellowship will provide journalists with up to US$30,000 to pursue their reporting project.
The extended deadline is May 1.
