NABJ-Pew Juvenile Justice Journalism Fellowship open [US]

Early to mid-year reporters from different geographic areas can apply for a fellowship.

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), in partnership with The Pew Charitable Trusts, is accepting applications for the NABJ-Pew Juvenile Justice Journalism Fellowship.

Five reporters will spend nine months, March to November, working on local or state-level investigative reporting projects. The reporting projects should mix narrative storytelling with data and research that focus on issues in the juvenile legal system or young people and the criminal legal system.

The fellowship will begin with an orientation in Washington, D.C.  Pew will cover travel costs.

Each fellow will receive US$20,000.

Applicants must be current NABJ members and legally permitted to work in the United States.

The application deadline is Feb. 17.
