Journalists and documentary filmmakers around the world can submit their non-fiction short films and compete for a cash prize.
Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2023, one of the largest international short film festivals in Asia, is calling for non-fiction short films which explore societal issues and diverse lives around the world.
The Best Short Award Winner will receive a JPY600,000 (USD4,374) cash prize and be eligible for nomination for the annual Academy Award® the following year.
To compete, the documentary or non-fiction short films must be under 25 minutes and have been produced after Jun. 1, 2021. English subtitles are required for submissions in languages other than English or Japanese.
The entry fee is JPY4,500 (USD33).
