College students or recent graduates from an HBCU with experience in social media, news writing and digital tools can apply for an internship.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is hiring a Back in the Newsroom intern for the International Journalists’ Network (IJNet), ICFJ’s online publication focused on journalism tips, tools and opportunities.

Successful interns will build foundational experience in digital publishing and international journalism through tasks that involve managing social media, designing and coordinating engagement activities, tracking analytics and evaluating audience growth.

Interns will also have the opportunity to contribute written and multimedia content for publishing on the IJNet’s website.

The 12-week internship begins in September. Interns will be paid US$16.10 per hour and will work up to 35 hours per week.

Applicants must be based in the United States.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
