Journalists covering the American West can apply for a fellowship that offers a US$5,000 stipend.
The Bill Lane Center for the American West at Stanford University is accepting applications for the 2024 Western Journalism and Media Fellowship. The three-month fellowship provides the opportunity for a journalist to work on a project that spurs new coverage of the American West.
To apply, journalists must submit project proposals that examine a crucial aspect of the West, its land, its people, its history and the impact of the forces that power its economies.
The successful fellow will visit Stanford University and interact with researchers, scholars and students.
