Mobile Photography Awards  Deadline: Dec. 11

The Mobile Photography Awards is a competition and touring exhibit promoting mobile photography and art. Photographers who use mobile phone cameras can submit images.  Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and for highlighting the contest's theme —- creating groundbreaking images despite the limitations of the medium. CUNY business journalism fellowship  Deadline: Dec. 15

The McGraw Center for Business Journalism at the City University of New York's Graduate School of Journalism offers a fellowship program to support in-depth coverage of business and the global economy. The fellowship provides editorial and financial support to journalists who need the time and resources to tackle complex, time-consuming stories. Fellows will receive grants of US$5,000 per month for one to three months. Journalists with at least five years of experience can apply. For more information about applying, click here.

Immersive storytelling accelerator  Deadline: Dec. 18

The European Forest Institute and the Global Editors Network are launching Lookout360°, a six-month Climate Change Immersive Story Accelerator project that helps journalists produce immersive videos on climate change and its impact on people’s lives. Journalists and producers with little experience in 360° video and who cover climate change-related topics can apply for this program. To find out more, click here.

United Nations Democracy Fund grants available Deadline: Dec. 20

The United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) is inviting civil society organizations to apply for funding for projects to advance and support democracy. Organizations working in the areas of media, youth, women, democratization, community development, rule of law and human rights are eligible. Project grants range between US$100,000 and US$300,000. National Endowment for Democracy grants  Deadline: Dec. 22

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is seeking proposals for projects that advance democratic goals and strengthen democratic institutions. Independent media organizations, civic groups and associations can apply. Grant amounts vary depending on the size and scope of the projects, but the average grant lasts 12 months and is around US$50,000. To learn more, click here.

Fellowships for conference on rural poverty, development  Deadline: Dec. 31

The Thomson Reuters Foundation, with funding from the United Nations’ International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), will select journalists to attend IFAD's event on innovative approaches to inclusive financing for rural transformation. Print, broadcast and online journalists can apply for fellowships to participate in the training event in Rome.
