Training on data use in public health journalism open [Asia]

Journalists interested in public health reporting can apply for a three-day training on data use.

Vital Strategies, an international public health organization, will host a workshop Jan. 29 to 31, 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.  

The workshop will build the data use skills of 22 journalists to develop stories related to Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS). Participants will be mentored to develop a CRVS related data stories for publication.

The program is open to senior-level journalists who work for established media outlets in Bangladesh, Mumbai, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Shanghai; have previously produced stories on public health topics; and have a specific idea for a data-rich public health story they want to develop can apply.

The deadline is Dec. 1.
