Today, the IJNet team is excited to reveal its brand new website design.

Perhaps the most noticeable change is our new logo and branding. IJNet covers the latest journalism tools, trends and technologies; we wanted our visual identity to reflect this spirit of innovation.

This refreshed look has been a long time coming. The last time IJNet redesigned its website was in 2014. Since then, the internet — and the ways in which we use it to access information — have changed radically.

Since 2014, comments sections have mostly gone extinct on digital media sites like IJNet. For this reason, we decided to abandon our old website’s commenting system in favor of more fruitful discussion on our social media pages and groups. We plan to foster engagement with our loyal readers through channels like the IJNet Forum on Facebook (in English and Portuguese).

We’ve also streamlined our website navigation to make it easier for our readers to find the resources and opportunities they need to advance their careers — IJNet’s core mission. It’s simpler than ever to filter IJNet content and opportunities by topic. Our toolkits on topics like basic journalism, multimedia journalism and more are now accessible at the click of a button. This simplified navigation is something many readers have asked for in our annual reader surveys.

With this new website design, we will also be bringing our readers more toolkits on important areas of journalism; more live chats on Facebook Live and Slack; and more video content.

This is only the beginning. Keep an eye out for more new features on the site in the weeks and months to come.

We hope you enjoy the new website. Share your thoughts with us on Facebook and Twitter — we want to hear what you think.
