Indigenous students at colleges and universities in the U.S. can apply for a training program.

The Ilíiaitchik: Indigenous Correspondents Program (ICP) is a collaboration among Planet Forward at George Washington University, the University of Arizona's Indigenous Resilience Center and Arizona Institute for Resilience and the Native FEWS Alliance. The program supports Indigenous students through a year-long professional development, communication skill-building and community-building program led by Indigenous mentors in fields ranging from environmental journalism and science, to photography and music production.

Ten to 12 students will be selected for the program, which includes workshops, mentorship, community-building opportunities, and more.

The program will culminate with an all expenses paid trip to Washington.

Participants will receive a US$1,000 stipend upon completion of their storytelling project.

The deadline is July 11.
