Hybrid event on freedom of expression, AI and elections [Worldwide]

Journalists worldwide can register at attend this online and in-person event in Brussels, Belgium.

UNESCO and UNDP are organizing the parallel session “Freedom of Expression, Artificial Intelligence, and Elections” during UNESCO's World Press Freedom Day Celebrations on May 6.

The session will have simultaneous translation in French and Spanish and will convene a panel of experts to explore how to harness the benefits of AI for the information ecosystem during elections, while avoiding negative consequences.

The session will also mark the launch of a new Issue Brief on Freedom of Expression, Artificial Intelligence, and Elections,  developed by UNESCO and UNDP. It provides an overview of how AI influences freedom of expression in elections, offering approaches for practitioners and partners in navigating a fast-evolving context.
