Journalists from South Asia with experience covering rural issues can apply for this online workshop.
As part of the Rural Poverty and Agriculture program, the Thomson Reuters Foundation (TRF) is hosting a four-day workshop on reporting on food security and rural development, October 10 to13.
The workshop will cover food security, food production, markets and climate issues and include a skills lab on online verification, social media and digital storytelling.
Participants will have the opportunity to speak with leading IFAD experts from the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) as they look at ways to meet the challenges of tackling climate change, food security and production problems.
Journalists who attend the workshop will be expected to cover these issues in their home countries after the workshop. A small grant and assistance from TRF mentors will be provided for selected journalists to support their reporting.
