Media outlets can apply for an accelerator program and be eligible for grants up to EUR20,000.
The International Press Institute (IPI) launches the Transition Accelerator. This six-month program is designed for small- to mid-sized digital or legacy media outlets that are transforming their business by pivoting to membership through deeper audience engagement or that want to invest in new content and distribution products by identifying user needs.
Newsrooms are welcome to apply if they have a clearly identified challenge or problem they want to solve; a plan on how to address the problem or challenge they face; recently conducted audience research or other market testing activities; and willingness and a plan to reach out to new audiences with quality content.
Grants may be used to cover the costs for the production of a proposed project.
Applying newsrooms should be based in Europe, the Western Balkans, Ukraine or Moldova.
The application deadline is Oct. 28.
