Mid-career journalists in Uganda can apply to participate in this course.

The African Centre for Media Excellence, with support of the Natural Resource Governance Institute, is accepting applications for the course “Covering Oil and Gas in Uganda.” This residential training program focuses on effective coverage of the oil and gas sector, which is now at take-off stage and offers exciting reporting opportunities.

The training consists of a series of two core courses that will be held in Kampala.

The first course, a foundational one, will take place Sept. 12 to 16. The second course, a follow-up workshop, will be held in October for eight days and includes a study trip to the oil and gas activity sites in the Albertine.

Women journalists are encouraged to apply.

The application deadline is Aug. 24.
