Grants available for climate change storytelling [Africa]

Media outlets in Africa are eligible for grants up to US$10,000 to assist newsrooms with storytelling on climate change.

The World Association of News Publishers-IFRA Media Freedom is accepting applications for the African Media Grants: Climate Change and Environmental Reporting. The grants are designed to aid newsrooms across Africa in tackling storytelling that demonstrates clear relevance to local communities, addresses the big issues, highlights the underreported stories and exposes new angles.

Newsrooms can submit their project pitches and if selected, they will have 10 weeks to complete their projects.

Media outlets from Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe are eligible to apply.

The application deadline is Oct. 24.
