Data and investigative journalists in Southeast and South Asia can participate in an online course on corporate social impact.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation, with funding from the Skoll Foundation, is hosting the two-week training program "‘S’ in ESG: Reporting on Corporate Social Impact."  The online training is focused on the use of financial and non-financial data as a means of assessing corporate social performance, the ‘S’ in ESG (environmental, social and governance).

From Nov. 30 to Dec. 9, participants will enhance their skills and resources to better report on the discrepancies between corporate practice and disclosure in order to increase transparency on social issues and raise public awareness.

After the course, journalists can apply for a two-month program that includes one-on-one mentoring and a US$250 grant to produce and publish their stories by end February 2022.

Applicants must be based in India, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal and Vietnam.

The application deadline is Oct. 31.
