Journalists, researchers or students interested in data journalism can apply to attend this training course in Cairo, Egypt.

In cooperation with Cairo-based data research institute Daftar Ahwal, Egypt's Mada Masr is offering a Storytelling with Data training course, which will be held in five weekly sessions between September and October 2021.

Using raw data compiled by Daftar Ahwal, the trainees will learn about storytelling, data management, information assessment and production stages.

The training course consists of five four-hour weekly sessions: how to tell a data-backed story, how to create data, how to assess information, and how to adapt and use data, with the fifth session dedicated to an open discussion of the trainees' projects.

The training is free of charge for members of the Mada Membership Program. Non-members can participate for a fee of EGP800.

The deadline is Sept. 21.
