Journalism prize seeks entries on small business reporting [Brazil]

Journalists, photojournalists and journalism students can compete for this prize.

The Support Service for Micro and Small Business in Brazil (Sebrae) is seeking entries for its 12th Sebrae Journalism Prize. The competition recognizes the coverage of small businesses in print, audio, video or photo. This year's prize is specially looking for stories highlighting the the small business landscape through the lens of bioeconomics, innovation, digital transformation, COP30, female entrepreneurship, policy-making, and many more.

Journalists can submit stories published in newspapers, magazines and websites; audio content for radio or podcasts; video content broadcast on TV or digital video platforms; and a single image or series of images published in print or digital news organizations.

Journalism students can also enter the competition with written, audio, video or image content produced during their undergraduate course.

Entries submitted must be published or broadcast from June 3, 2024 to June 8, 2025.

There will also be a special category honoring a journalist for their outstanding support of small business owners.

The submission deadline is June 9.
