Internews has developed a trainer's manual to help radio journalists report on HIV/AIDS.
The manual, part of Internews Networks' Local Voices program, funded by USAID, is divided into 13 chapters. The majority of the manual focuses on teaching general reporting skills such as interviewing and scriptwriting. The remainder is specific to HIV reporting. Trainers are instructed to help radio journalists use HIV-appropriate language and improve their research skills.
The manual also provides hand-outs, answer sheets and a prospective training agenda for workshops.
