Journalists can now access an analysis of the Nepalese Right to Information Act 2007 released by the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) and Freedom Forum (FF). The Right to Information Act grants every Nepali citizen the right to access information held by public bodies.
FNJ and FF propose several recommendations to bring the act in line with better international standards and practices. They are pushing the Nepalese authorities to take steps to evaluate the issues and the shortcomings that are brought up in the analysis in means of producing a positive interpretation of the Right to Information Act.
